Useful information

Xaghra is a village in Gozo where one can find the Ggantija temples (the oldest free standing temples in the world), Calypso’s Cave (where legend has it that Ulysses was captivated by the lure of Calypso), the magnificent Basilica and the beaches of Ramla Bay and Ghajn Barrani amongst others. Restaurants and local shops are all at 5 minutes to 15 minutes walking distance. Between the last weekend of May up to the 2nd weekend of September every village of the Island celebrates their local feast accompanied with bands and processions and also lots of fireworks. One can find the “qubbajd” a local sweet make in rectangural blocks especially for the local village feasts and also the traditional “granita” a very well chilled strawberry flavoured drink.
